This site argues that a claim nobody checked is worth less than one that is. Here is the state of the catalogue, in public, ranked by how much of the atlas points at each entry. No sign-off and no filtering to the flattering subset.

17 of these entries are not claims about the world and will never carry a citation. They are the framework this site argues from - the counter, the paradox, the clerk, the card. An argument is not sourced, it is defended, and attaching a reference to one would be decoration dressed as rigour. They are marked as this site's own argument and counted separately, so the number above is a real backlog rather than a queue of things that cannot be done.

Two words that are not the same thing. Sourced means a person read the citation and stood behind it. Retrieved means the link resolves, which is a statement about a URL and not about the world. Most of the gap above is the second kind of problem: the claim is written and the reference exists, but nobody has fetched the reference or checked it against the sentence.

This page is the technical audit, ranked by how much of the atlas points at each entry. The open ledger is the same data stated as an editorial standard — what the two words mean, what counts as read, and what is deliberately not counted as a deficit.

THE BACKLOG, WORST FIRST

Ranked by degree, not by age. An entry with nineteen edges into it is reached nineteen times as often, so its citation status matters nineteen times over. This is the order to fix them in.
