The assistant with your whole life in it
A system holding your calendar, your messages, your health questions and your voice, in a private conversational register.
The strongest parasocial bond available and the one nobody has a framework for, because there is no framework for a relationship with software that knows everything and is not a person.
Application. One-sided attachment put to work on purpose. Creator economies, community, fandom as infrastructure, and the things that genuinely help people. Not automatically good - a tool with an obvious use is a tool that will also get a bad one.
Consideration. The part where somebody stops and thinks. The research, the diagnosis, the ethics, the lawsuits, the regulators. Roughly fifty years of arguing with itself about whether this is a relationship.

- unverifiedThe lineage: the assistant with your whole life in it descends from Meena (2020) and LaMDA, both built at Google, both rejected internally for the same reasonGarcia v. Character Technologies, Inc., Order on Motions to Dismiss (M.D. Fla. 2025).
- retrievableThe documented prediction that came true: users share personal thoughts with chat agents that impersonate humans even when they know the agent is not human - stated as a risk in Google's own LaMDA paper, January 2021E.S. v. Character Technologies, Inc., Complaint, citing Google's January 2021 LaMDA paper. ↗
