The sasaeng
A fan whose attachment has become fixed, repeated and physical: tracking whereabouts, intercepting flights, surveilling buildings. The word is Korean and the practice is not new, but the scale and the criminality are.
The point at which the fiction ends being a fiction. It is also the lane's honest boundary: the same feeling, the same industry, the same platforms, and a line that once gets crossed cannot be uncrossed by anyone in the room. Convictions for stalking a member of a group have followed this pattern in several jurisdictions.
Manipulation. One-sided attachment engineered for somebody else's benefit. Paid intimacy, parasocial persuasion, sasaeng, grief extraction, the streak. The lane that pays the bills and the lane that causes the most harm, frequently at the same time.
