Mystical union
The doctrine that a human being can be, however imperfectly, joined to the divine - described by theologians as an encounter between two.
The theological tradition that took the one-sidedness seriously enough to build a vocabulary for it, and to argue for centuries about whether the union is symmetrical. Every companion app is this argument with the consent question removed.
Application. One-sided attachment put to work on purpose. Creator economies, community, fandom as infrastructure, and the things that genuinely help people. Not automatically good - a tool with an obvious use is a tool that will also get a bad one.
